Different Brains Treasurer: Paul J. Kaliades

With more than 35 years of multifamily apartment ownership, management, development, and insurance experience, Paul Kaliades has earned a national reputation for guiding multifamily companies through critical stages of development. As president & partner, Kaliades has directed RLL (Renters Legal Liability) into regional multifamily markets throughout the United States with penetration into 45 states and participation of 600,000+ habitational units nationwide.

Prior to joining RLL, Kaliades was president and partner of SureDeposit, the nation’s first provider of security deposit alternatives. He led the company’s dramatic expansion and was a leading force in the multifamily industry’s acceptance of security deposit alternatives.

From 1997 to 1999, Kaliades served as president of the New Jersey Apartment Association and as executive vice president for The Kamson Corporation of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Kaliades helped oversee marketing and management for a portfolio of 12,000 apartment units.

Paul has a long time relationship with the National Apartment Association (NAA), a federation of state and local trade associations. As an owner, he served on the Legislative, Budget & Finance, PAC, and Conference committies and as a Region II delegate. Paul also has a long affiliation with the NMHC (National Multi Housing Council) having served as a board member. He also is a past member of the NAA and NMHC Suppliers Councils.

Kaliades is also a founding partner of Milestone Development LLC, a Denver-based builder of luxury apartment communities.

Paul earned a B.A. in economics from Columbia University and an M.A. in administration from New Jersey City University. A member of the Columbia University Athletic Hall of Fame, in 2000 he was named to the Columbia All-Century Football Team following his All-American career.

Kaliades is a member of the A.H.E.P.A (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) National Athletic Hall of Fame and president of the Pontos Society of New Jersey, a philanthropic organization to promulgate and preserve Pontian Greek history through educational, cultural, religious, and social activities.
