In this episode, hosts Lauren Gerber Ms. Ed., PSY. D. and Becca Lory, CAS, BCCS speak with Leslie A. Sickels, LCSW. Leslie is a licensed clinical social worker based in midtown Manhattan, and has received extensive trainings and certifications in CBT, DBT and trauma-informed practices. Her areas of expertise include autism spectrum disorder (ASD), anxiety, depression and trauma. Much of her work focuses on gender and sexuality as they relate to the unique concerns of individuals with ASD. Decca, Dr. Gerber, and Leslie discuss the importance of educating people on the spectrum about sex and relationships, the common misnomers society has about autism and relationships, and gender identity issue within the ASD community.
